This was the judges first visit and it set a high benchmark. The owner is an architect and weaver who has designed a Passivhaus home nestled into the landscape to avoid blocking her neighbours’ views of the natural landscape. 

The house has been designed to adapt to its owner through the later stages of her life and reflects her creativity, attention to detail and connections with Denmark. It connects with the landscape through its built form and carefully framed views of an ancient oak tree and the Thurgoland countryside.
